Entertainment for children
The main aim of the the Smiling Hospital Foundation is to lift the spirits of sick children in hospitals in order to help the process of their recovery. Also other weak groups in society are supported, like ‘institutions for the mentally handicapped’ and the elderly in Homes for Aged People. The second aim is to help improve the general environment of the hospitals (painting walls in wards, gardens, etc.). A long term objective is to start “smiling hospital activities” in many countries outside Hungary with the support from local artists and financed by local sponsors.
The main aim of the the Smiling Hospital Foundation is to lift the spirits of sick children in hospitals in order to help the process of their recovery.
The methods being used are regular (most often weekly) visits by musicians, magicians, doll-players and other artists, who visit the children in hospitals and go room by room and from bed to bed. If the audience is not bedridden, then performances will be given in a central place. For a short introduction of this activity, please look at our video below:
In the year 2018 almost 300 volunteers visited close to 7000 hospitalised children all over Hungary
